At 22 months old, Joseph is chatty Cathy. He talks and babbles and points and can have a conversation with anything he is holding. He can say some complete sentences, but a lot of the times he still just babbles.
It is so fun to see him excited, he gets the most excited about Daddy coming home from work. Once Daddy comes through that garage door, Joseph jumps up and runs as fast as he can to Daddy saying, Daddy's home!, Daddy's home! And he takes him by the hand and has to show him his toys and trucks. It is the sweetest thing ever. Joseph also gets excited when me and him come home to find Gina waiting for us. He runs around and has to have a few Gina kisses once we get home.
Joseph can count up to 10 perfectly and will fill in the blanks if we help him count any higher. I believe he's gone to 16 so far. He also has several books memorized and he can say the books himself or fill in the blank as I read them. Some of these books are, There's a Rocket in my Pocket, his truck book, and The fruits of the spirit. He has mastered all his shapes, including the octagon and crescent:). We are still working on colors, he just can't get those down. We are pretty sure he know the color white and pink. I'm not sure why those stuck with him but they did.
He has become a picky eater, but he still eats healthy. He will not eat when I want him to and he will not sit in his high chair if he doesn't want to. He still eats his super porridge oatmeal with healthy additives. He eats about 2 eggs a day because sometimes I just can't get him to eat anything else. He wants dry cereal and milk most all day long...Occasionally he's eat something new but not every often. He had his first cheese ball at Lillian's birthday party-without my permission, thanks Aunt Cindy! :)
He is going through a stage where he loves songs! After we bathe him and read to him at bedtime he will lay his head on our shoulder and ask for a "Sing song" at this point we better start singing or he will let you know he's not happy. He will sometimes try and hum along or make up his own words with us as we sing. I'll often hear him try to sing his own song while he plays. So adorable:)
He is still a great sleeper. We've had issues with naptime since I went back to work. I'm not sure if this will ever get better, but on the weekends he takes a great nap. He never wakes during the night and on weekends will stay in his crib till 8:30 playing and reading.
I'm thinking he has 13 teeth at this point. 4 front, a canine, 4 bottom, and 4 molars. So far we've only had one major breakdown with molars cutting through. That was a horrible night we had to drive around at midnight on a weekday so he would stop screaming. He chewed on a cracker and raisins. He was inconsolable and I hope that never happens again...not fun.
2 more months until Joseph turns 2! I completed his 2 scrapbooks from birth till 19 months old. I'm ready to begin his 3rd scrapbook with his 2 yr old birthday pics. I can't believe my baby is now a little toddler.
I LOVE him!!
