Hemp Ball

This is what happens to your hemp ball when the dog and baby sneak into your scrapbooking room.

Bear Branch Park

Last week we went with 3 of my mom's group friends (from the Memorial Hermann mom group) to Bear Branch Park. It is a toddler park located in the Woodlands and we love it! I really wanted his birthday party there, but last month when I called every Saturday in October was booked!! Next year I guess I'll call 2 months ahead! He has a lot of fun and I think once he walks he will love it even more.

The Woodlands Children's Museum

I took Joseph to the MUSEUM with a friend and her 7 mth old. It was a nice afternoon to get out of the house and into some air conditioning where Joseph could play. They have a little section for toddlers only. He loved the big fish tank, gears, and little slide and wooden play area. When he gets older they offer activity centers where he can make crafts and other fun things.

I think he could have played gears all day long
At first he was laughing at the fish, then he just couldn't keep his eyes off them
Air was blowing out of this tube, he loved it whe nI held him over it

Baby Wearer

I figured out how to wear the Moby Wrap! Ashley let me borrow her wrap she got for Brycen when he was a baby. It came with an instruction CD and there are a lot of different holds you can do with your baby. And the best thing of all this hold with Joseph in the picture is called the "Joey Hold" LOVE IT!!!!!

11 months old

Joseph at The Woodlands Children's Museum

Finger Foods!!
Dirt don't hurt
Bedtime Reading with Daddy, Look how big he looks!
First of all, he is getting pretty picky with foods. Joseph no longer likes me to spoon feed him. He wants to eat everything by himself. If he is REALLY hungry he will let me feed him, but if not just forget it! This means feeding time is very messy indeed! I am spreading his super porriadge on "Magic Pops"- That is a cracker that resembles a rice cake, made from rice and grains that dissolves easily. He also enjoys Almond butter spread on his whole wheat cracker. I am introducing more and more finger foods. He LOVES cheese, he would eat it for every meal if I let him. Other finger foods he enjoys is cottage cheese, any crackers or cereal, bread, rice. I try to get him to eat cooked veggies but he spits them out, and he only ate a banana himself once at my moms. I plan to keep offering finger foods of cooked carrots, sweet potatoes, pear, banana, and other healthy fruits and veggies. Talking! I swear he says a lot of things, but maybe that's because I'm his mother. We are positive he can say these words: Moooo (cow), Uh-oh (when he drops something, or when he is about to drop something), and I think he can hoot like an owl, but that one is up in the air... He can make many sound effects mainly learned form his daddy. He can blow (practicing for his birthday), smack his lips, pop his tounge, and make car nosies when him and daddy are playing cars. When I read him books it sounds like he trys to mimic some words I say. Although this might just be baby babble.... We saw him try to wave for the first time on Saturday. We were leaving Ashley's baby shower and I had everyone waving at him and he started moving his little fingers on both hands. I swear it was a wave : ) He is genius is what I told everybody! I think he is going to take that first step any day, but for now is is sticking to the crawl. I want him to be walking for Halloween so we can trick or treat at the neighbors. We are gonna work on that. He is so fun and always keeps me laughing. He can stay busy himself most of the time. Although he likes it best when I am in the floor playing with him, or reading to him. I have drawers in the kitchen he likes to pull things out of and play, he also loves chasing Gina and getting her raw hide or ball away from her. He loves kisses and even nibbles from Gina. He thinks she is soooo funny. And Gina loves playing with him. One more month and my baby will be 1 year old. I really cannot believe it. I told Joey I wanted a year off of work and my year is almost up! I'm not ready to leave him yet with anyone else. So let's give it a few more months : ) Joseph goes to see Dr. Roy (ENT) for his throat next month when he turns a year. Joey will go with us and at this time we will get a new dosage of medicene and start weaning him to see if his mass is shrinking away. Let's pray that sucker is gone!!

Welcome Abby

Abigail Elizabeth came into the world Sept 15th at 9:54pm, she is 7 lbs and 7 oz. Kim gave it her all and finally Abigail arrived! Way to go Kim! We love you guys!

Joseph's Happy Place

That's right, it's the freezer. He has an ear for that door opening. He crawls as fast as he possibly can to get the the freezer and then just stands there. Sometimes he touches things in there, other times he just stands there and soaks up the coldness. Then when I pull him away and close the door, he has a major crying fit. You would have thought the world was coming to an end. I would like to thank my husband for wanting a fridge with a freezer on the bottom:)

Labor Day Weekend

Joey got Friday off so we headed to Corsicana for 4 nights. It was a nice getaway. The Boeller's were suppose to come with us, but Randy had a bum knee and ended up having surgery the following Tuesday. They were hyped about a weekend of hunting. So Joey, Russell, and my dad went dove hunting several times and hog hunting. They got ther limit of dove and Joey shot his 1st hog. Yay! Us women folk plus baby J spent some time together, went swimming and I was able to take Baby J up to mom's school so we could show him off to everyone on Friday. Joseph had fun with his cousins over the weekend. We did have some sad news, Russell's grandmother passed away the Thursday before we arrived. So Sunday we went to the visitation. Please continue to keep his family in your prayers. I will probably make another trip to Corsicana next month. Then my parents will be here for Joseph's birthday. So we are looking forwards to upcoming visits!

Being a Busy Boy makes you SLEEPYYYY

Joseph is fast and all over the place! Just this week he climbed all the way up the stairs all by himself! He didn't even stop to rest on the way up. He is not facinated with the stairs and I don't even worry about him climbing up when I'm not looking. He just decided one day he was going to take the long climb up, and he did. He really likes helping me with the dishes when I have the dishwasher door opened. Today he climbed on top of the open door. I told him no because we do not want him to break the dishwasher, he didn't do it again. He LOVES outside. He used to just sit in the grass when I put him there, even after he learned to crawl. So 2 months into crawling he finally is brave enough to crawl through the grass. So now when we go outside, he goes anywhere. That usually means over to my shade garden to pull a petunia bloom off, or to the dog water bowl to get wet, or straight to gina's nasty outside ball that goes straight to his mouth. Speaking of mouth, he is putting all sorts of things in there. I found a sticker from Gina's hair in there this week. Eww. He also has offically ate dirt. He loves feeding Gina his finger foods too. Gina loves when it is eating time for baby. She has never had so much table food in her life. (at least it is healthy table food:) Joseph is starting to hate naptime and sometimes bedtime, depending on how sleepy he is. Some naps are still in his swing, but if he goes to sleep while nursing, I can lay him in his crib and he will sleep for about an hour. I still think the swing keeps him asleep longer. He loves to cuddle with his blanket or anything soft when he sleeps. It is so sweet:)

Daddy-the hog hunter

Teething pain

Joseph has 4 teeth! The 4th one broke through the skin on Friday. Last week at home he was a drool monster and chewing on everything. I even caught him gnawing on the back of the wood part of the glider chair. It was so funny seeing him standing up chewing on the chair. All of his shirts have been soaked so I've been putting a bib on him. I have been trying to stay away from the tylonal, and I think the Teething Tablets have been helping him. We got 2 bottles of those at baby showers : ) Glad to have them.

Big baby

This picture was taken a couple months ago, now I can barely carry him in this backpack! He kills my back, I try to wear him in the front or on my back, but he is getting too big for mama to lug around. Daddy will have to carry him in this pack from now on. My back is breaking!
