29 weeks

Growing and Growing, that's what I feel like my tummy is doing. According to my books I'm reading the baby weighs about 2.5 pounds and is about 10 inches from crown to rump. Baby's brain can now control the breathing and body temperature. Baby can also cough, and the sucking abilities have been perfected. The baby is able to turn his or her head to find the source of a bright light. Baby is continuing to become more sensitive to sounds, tastes, and smells. The fat layers will continue to form on Baby's body. The head is in proportion to the rest of the body and the eyes can move in the sockets. The bones are fully developed, but they are still soft and pliable. And the baby is beginning to store iron, calcium, and phosphorus.
My lab work came back good for the gestational diabetes test! That is great news! But I'm on Iron supplements because I'm anemic. Other than that, all is well! Tonight, I had a nice dinner with Joey at a Mexican restaurant and had fried ice cream for dessert! Yum! My picture is a little blurry, Joey took it tonight of me by my favorite flower, the Moonflower! This is the most blooms I've ever had at once, I was so excited.

Number Knobs and Mobile

I ordered these number knobs from Pottery Barn kids. I knew I wanted some knobs that were in the primary colors that matched the polka dots in the nursery. When I came across these numbers I thought they would look really cute in the room. Of course they match the "ABC 123" theme : )

We also decided on which mobile we wanted. It was down to 2 and we decided on this one. It has the same animals as the ones on the quilt and the green will blend with the green on the quilt. Thanks everyone for helping me try and find one that matched! My sister came across this one.

We also picked up our polka dots from Hobby Lobby yesterday. They are a really thin piece of wood. We will use paint samples that match the dots on the quilt, I'm thinking red, green, orange, blue & yellow. We also have 3 shelves that Joey will paint to match.

The furniture is officially in the nursery (thanks Steve for helping!) and the crib sheets are on (thanks Ashley and the guys!)so I will post pics soon!!

And I drank it all down...

This morning I was drinking the very sweet fruit punch drink at 7:10 am for my gestational diabetes test this morning. It was the kind of sweet that burns just a little when you swallow it. It wasn't too bad though. I couldn't have anything else sweet, but they said I could eat eggs. Since I could never survive without breakfast, I scrambled me some eggs before I chugged my fruit punch. Once I got to the doc office they took my blood and then I got to meet with Dr. Reed. They gave me a hand out on keeping track of Baby's kicks. I've got to set aside an hour each day to sit down and relax and count Baby's kicks. Once I get to 10 kicks I record it and I'm done. If it's been an hour and Baby hasn't kicked 10 times I'm suppose to drink a glass of cold water and start again. If Baby still hasn't kicked 10 times in an hour I'm suppose to call the doc. I also record the time of how long it took to get 10 kicks. Dr. Reed assured me the Braxton hicks contractions are nothing to worry about and for me to just recognize if the contractions start a pattern, like every 5 or 10 min, then to call her. And since I'm in my 3rd trimester I will go to the doc every 2 weeks now!! I cannot believe I am already in the 3rd trimester!! After my doc visit, I walked over to the main hospital and signed my consents for when I am admitted. I pre-registered online, so all I did was sign consents and apply for a social security number and birth certificate for baby. All is set and ready to go! My next appt is Friday Aug 6th!

Gina!

I had to post about Gina because she will be a big sister to our baby. I know eventually the baby and Gina will be the best of buddies. Gina will turn 1 yr old on Oct 6th, so it is a possibility that they will be birthday twins : ) So here are a few pictures of our doggy daughter, Gina!

Week 26 !

Joey got the chair rail up yesterday. It looks really good! He did a great job. Next will be the polka dots, the dots will really make it cute! We picked up our furniture this past weekend. A crib and changing table. I am still looking for a small (and cheap) changing table for downstairs.

Lacey helped me register on Saturday. We drove to Mesquite and went to Babies R us and Wal Mart. It was a very successful trip and I am so thankful to have a sister!! I don't know what I would have done without her! Thank you Lacey! I am most excited about my pack and play. It is brown and has polka dots too! We got everything picked out except for the high chair which me and Joey will go pick out one of these weekends.

I feel like I am growing every week. I am really fitting into most maternity clothes now, mainly the tops. I bought a belly band (thanks for motivating me Ashley) so now I have a better choice of bottoms to wear that will actually stay up. The baby is moving more than ever and he/she mostly hangs out on the right side of my belly. I am pretty sure I've had some Braxton Hicks contractions too. It feels like my uterus gets real hard and tight for a few seconds, then goes back to normal. It feels uncomfortable but not painful. I will let the doc know when I go next Friday. We are getting anxious about meeting our newborn! 3 more months to go!

Week 25

I'm still feeling great! I have occasional aches and pains but I'm sure all normal, you know the back hurts, the stomach stretchhhingggg, stuff like that. I'm still going to yoga one a week, and walking at least a mile about 3 or 4 times a week. Gina walks with me and Joey will most of the time too. If I walk too far my ligament pain will start hurting. It seems like my tummy just popped out this past weekend! Baby is still active when I lay down for bed at night. During the day I feel a kick here and there. I am on track with my weight gain and I should be gaining a pound a week from here on out. I gained my pound this week, so now I've gained 10 pounds! That is exciting! This is my last week in my 2nd trimester! My next doctor's appt is the glucose diabetes test on July 23rd.

Diapers!

We received our first pack of diapers! The sweet volunteer who helps us out on Mondays at work gave us a package of diapers, hand sanitizer, and a gift card to Toys R us. Joey was very excited to see a pack of diapers on the table when he got home from work : )
