Happy Birthday Dada!

Our family
I made 2 pizzas- one supreme and this one is Joey's, he wanted no veggies (the mushrooms were my part :)
Everyone minus my mother, she was taking the picture, thanks mom!
Sunday was Joey's 31st birthday. OMG I can't believe we're getting so old, blah! We met when we were 18, such kids :) Joey had a fun filled boys-only weekend camping at Huntsville State park. They made it home safe and sound, just real stinky and tired. I planned dinner and cake for his family that evening. My parents were in town also. I made pizza and a Dream Cake for my man. He got a few gifts too, socks from me and the baby, matress heaters for the camper from my parents, and his parents pitched in when we bought the camper. So overall, I think he had a nice 31st birthday : )

Christmas Carols for the Old Folks

Joseph and Beck visiting

Quinn pulling the boys
Joseph had to try out these wheels, he loved it!The hair dresser-Joseph's best friend

Last week Joseph, Quinn, Beck, and Jenna went and sang Christmas Carols at Quinn and Beck's Great-Grandma's nursing home. Joseph was a good bell ringer and dancer while us moms and Quinn sang our hearts out. The residents were so grateful for our visit and they loved seeing our little children! We sang in the beauty shop there and Joseph walked right up to the hair dresser. It was like he knew her! She came out in the hall with us and Joseph lifted his arms up to her! She held him and he was so content. I swear I'd never seen this lady in my life. Then Joseph didn't want to come back to me, it was the funniest thing. I kinda think she favors Marilyn so maybe he thought it was her. I guess I'll never know what was going on in his little mind! Overall, we had a great time and I hope to go back and visit someday soon.

Santa !

LAST YEAR- my little chunk!

Tonight we had a visit from Santa AKA Poppy. At first Joseph wasn't sure what was going on and why Poppy had this crazy hat on. But he sat in Santa's lap like a big boy, no tears of course but he keeps that serious look on his face. It was a fun time and I plan to make this a tradition.

Abby's Baptism

This past weekend Joey and I went up to Lavon (Dallas area) for our Godchild's Baptism. Joseph stayed the day with my parents. We had such a nice day visiting with Kim and her parents and getting to know little Abby. She is a sweetheart and of course cute as a button! The Baptism was wonderful and Abby kept her cool until the very end when she got really hungry! I wish I lived closer to Kim and Drew, but I guess we will just make special trips to visit each other!

Homemade Christmas ornaments

I'm having some friends over who I met at the MH mom's support group and we are doing a homemade Christmas ornament exchange. Here are some pics of the mitten ornaments and a coffee filter angel that I made. Oh and the mittens really open so I can put some christmas candy in there.

Moooooooooooooooo

Joseph "Moos" ALOT. He moos at pictures of sheep, giraffes, alligators, kittys, ect., he moos when strangers talk to him, he moos at me, he moos at daddy. He just likes to moo. So when we were in Corsicana for Thanksgiving we walked across the street from my parents to visit the 4 cows. I really wanted one of them to moo for Joseph, but they didn't and the one time I wanted Joseph to moo, he didn't! Little stinker! Over Christmas maybe we will go out to Aunt Lacey's where I'm sure the cows will moo.

Hurt sign

Joseph signed hurt yesterday!! I immediately called Joey to tell him! We have been using signs for eat and drink, but it seemed like Joseph never signed the exact way we did. Yesterday he fell in the kitchen, cried a bit, sat up and looked down at his hands and tapped his two index fingers together to sign "hurt".

O Christmas Tree

Tree Farmers

We went to the Old Town Christmas Tree farm yesterday. I had only been once back when Joey and I were just dating. I was excited to go and really excited to get a REAL tree for downstairs this year!! Joseph skipped his afternoon nap and we headed in Poppy's new, big, red truck to saw down our tree. Joseph loved riding on the trailer and he LOVED watching the tractors pulling the trailers. But everytime the ride stopped he of course wanted down... So we picked out a 5 1/2 footer and brought her on home. I already have pine needles everywhere! We have her up on a table so Joseph won't climb her. He loves me picking him up and pointing to all the pretty ornament's. He already has learned "Christmas tree" and he points in that direction. It is filled with ornaments from me and Joey's childhood, ones from my family tree at home, and also new ones we received last year for Joseph's 1st Christmas. I already know this year is going to be a better Christmas than last year, the baby was very ill, next week will be 1 yr that I had to make my first 911 call when he couldn't breathe. I am so thankful those hard times are behind us now.
This evening I went to a Christmas cookie party, next weekend we attend a baptism, then Joey's birthday....oh goodness...Let the busy month of December begin....!

What's Joseph up to these days?

He loves reading this book and still loves his puppy sister Gina. In the book he loves to point out the soccer ball, puppy, and the kite.
He is trying new foods all the time now. Here he's eating a rice krispie treat. I still feed him pretty normal stuff from the Super Baby food book (oatmeal, beans, brocolli, kale, sweet potatoes, mango, avacado...) but I did fry him some tofu this week : )
He really likes crawling into things, like this little toy box. He'll just sit in there and play.
