Me and my precious, sweet, baby boy :)

Joseph is officially 2 1/2 and we are loving our funny boy! He is speaking so well and he is just so fun at this age!

Food: Some days Joseph eats very healthy and other days all he wants is snacks like cheerios and crackers. He was on a Chex and milk kick, but that has slowed down and I've introduced him to rice krispies which he likes. He used to always eat good for Mrs Claudia, but lately he is only eating cheerios and yogurt for her. Sometimes he will eat: turkey lunch meat, grapes, raisins, bread, beans, banana, oatmeal, and sweet potato. He will ALWAYS eat: scrambled egg, yogurt with tahini or peanut butter, pretzels, applesauce, prunes, pizza, and any kind of chips/crackers. He asks for juice often now which we mix with water, he will tell us apple, grape or orange. He still likes his milk and has to have it at nap time and bedtime. I try to feed him whatever we eat for dinner, but he seldom eats it.

Words:
Popsicle=Icicle
Where are you= Where Har you? (always in a sing song voice)
Mommy bird and Daddy bird= all the birds at the birdhouses
Everytime he sees a cross he says, "That's Jesus" then "Pray to Jesus"
He can name every Hot Wheel he owns by the correct name, Camero, Mustang, Impala..ect..
Same with his tractors, he can name them all, Excavator, backhoe, bobcat...ect
This week I fed him a banana and I had the peeling laying in front of him on the tray and he matter-of-factly
looked at me and stated "That's Compost." So true as I have a compost pile outside of my fence and we dump veggie and fruit scraps out there.
He loves singing and working his radio player. He can change out the CD's and turn the volumn up as loud as it will go. He often sings songs while he plays or while we eat dinner. It is adorable to hear him sing :) He also has a favorite church song he likes to sing :)
Sometime when we tell him to pick something us he says "Mommy pick up" that is when we help his body pick up what we've asked him for.

Nap time:
Oh dear... I used to shut his door and he would play then fall fast asleep. Now he has a party in his room when I shut the door for nap time. He will not go to sleep and he will put his face down under the door and say "Please Mommy Open the Door!!Please Mommy!" And I can't stand that so I have to go in there! We have a door knob lock on the inside of his door that we use for naptime, but not at night anymore. So for the past 2 weeks at naptime I tell him its time to stroll, he climbs in the stroller, asks for his milk, I give him his blanket or lovee, and we take a walk....rain or shine because that is the only way he will take a nap for me! It takes less than 10 min and he is asleep! Little stinker, he is so used to this now when he gets in the stroller he leans back and gets real comfy cause he knows he's going to sleep! Sometimes I just roll him into the living room to sleep it out in the stroller, other times I will carry his 30 pound self upstairs and put him in his bed. I need him to take that afternoon nap. He will sleep for an hour and a half or sometimes 2 hours. I really need that time to scrapbook :) and of course house chores! Plus if he does not get that nap he turns into a terrible two yr old...fits galore..He is sleeping through the night, occationaly he will wander into our room and we carry him back and tuck him in again and he falls right to sleep. No problems yet of him wanting in our bed. He has never slept with us so I hope to keep it that way.

Diapers:
We have not started potty training yet, I tried having him go number one in the big potty, and I could tell he was trying but it just didn't work out. He still has wet diapers in the mornings too. I just don't think we are ready, I'm not pushing it. He has pooped once and peed twice in his little potty but that was weeks or months ago...

He is very active, loves working with Daddy and Daddy's tools. Loves water, being outside, playing in th culdesak, kicking balls, and of course still obsessed with wheels. I've started thinking about his birthday party in October and I think I know the theme already, been brain storming a bit.

Please continue to pray for Ronnie, my sister's father in law, also for the victims of the West,TX explosion. Thankfully my 3 family members survived and 2 were hospitalized. SO blessed Memaw is fine and my Aunt and Uncle will recover.
