Bella Vista

Every year Joey and I take a little weekend trip somewhere new to celebrate another wonderful year together. It is nice to reconnect and get away from the business life can bring each day. And being without our precious 2-yr old is sometimes quite nice. This year we spent a weekend at the Bella Vista Bed and Breakfast in Marble Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Doerflor were our hosts and they have a beautiful place out in west Texas. Joey went to High School with their son, and we both went to college with him. We have known this family for a pretty long time. We also use to attend the same church when they lived in Houston.
Friday we arrived after a long winding road of ups and downs (I was carsick and had a headache by the time we arrived) But I felt better after we popped open some Peach wine and relaxed on the patio. We went into Marble Falls for a late dinner and ate outside over the water at Old City River Cafe. At the B&B the breakfast was of course fantastic. Sunday was even a cinco de mayo theme, and the coffee was amazing! Saturday we walked around the beautiful land and took a little tour of the owners home-gorgeous! Then we headed to FlatCreek winery for a tasting, then into downtown Marble Falls where we browsed in an old bookstore, a fudge shop, and some clothing stores. We ate dinner at a little Italian place and headed back to the B&B. That evening we sat in the hammock chairs for hours and ate our own body weight in fudge. Earlier that morning Joey, another guest, and Mr. Doerflor launched (see pics) some corn across the river for the deer. Sure enough in the evening we saw several deer come up and eat!! It was so beautiful and we watching many birds and hummingbirds. I did not want the weekend to end!!! Sunday we headed back to reality, we did miss our little pooper and had to keep looking at pictures of him all weekend long. If anyone needs to get away I suggest Bella Vista, they have a facebook page if you're interested.
