This morning I was drinking the very sweet fruit punch drink at 7:10 am for my gestational diabetes test this morning. It was the kind of sweet that burns just a little when you swallow it. It wasn't too bad though. I couldn't have anything else sweet, but they said I could eat eggs. Since I could never survive without breakfast, I scrambled me some eggs before I chugged my fruit punch. Once I got to the doc office they took my blood and then I got to meet with Dr. Reed. They gave me a hand out on keeping track of Baby's kicks. I've got to set aside an hour each day to sit down and relax and count Baby's kicks. Once I get to 10 kicks I record it and I'm done. If it's been an hour and Baby hasn't kicked 10 times I'm suppose to drink a glass of cold water and start again. If Baby still hasn't kicked 10 times in an hour I'm suppose to call the doc. I also record the time of how long it took to get 10 kicks. Dr. Reed assured me the Braxton hicks contractions are nothing to worry about and for me to just recognize if the contractions start a pattern, like every 5 or 10 min, then to call her. And since I'm in my 3rd trimester I will go to the doc every 2 weeks now!! I cannot believe I am already in the 3rd trimester!! After my doc visit, I walked over to the main hospital and signed my consents for when I am admitted. I pre-registered online, so all I did was sign consents and apply for a social security number and birth certificate for baby. All is set and ready to go! My next appt is Friday Aug 6th!
