Before Joseph got sick (at about 9 weeks)we were on our way to a nice schedule, and sleeping pretty darn good. We would get up in the mornings and i would feed him, dress him, he would look at Mr. Strawberry. We would move into the bathroom where he would sit in his bouncy and watch me put my hair up, get dressed, and wash my face. Then we would move downstairs and tell Gina Good morning, he would watch me fix breakfast and then watch me eat it. At noon we would watch All My Children (we love that soap), The afternoons we would play and wait for Daddy to get home. We would nap sometimes or go for a stroll to the mailbox.
Well, all that has gone out the window. My squeaky boy now pretty much isn't on a schedule. He didn't eat good all weekend, so we are resorting to a bottle and I'm pumping all the time. He will occasionally nurse, but I think since it is so hard for him to get air to breathe, nursing is too much of a struggle for him. If I catch him when he isn't trying so hard to breathe he just might latch on. He is crying for hours at a time at night. I'm not sure if this is from the Laryngomalacia, or from reflux. Sometimes he will cry for hours during the daytime too. Again, maybe it is the reflux, but when he cries it makes it that much harder for him to breathe. Some days are ok, he will smile and want to play and read. We go see a new ENT tomorrow. Joey's mom will go with me. Maybe we can get some help and the baby can get some relief for his breathing. He will probably have another scope done in the office. They have a screen so we will be able to see exactly what it looks like in his throat. We will talk with the ENT and see what he thinks about Joseph. Wish us luck!
