We cannot believe our baby will be 5mths old next week! We are having so much fun with Little Joey. I have gotten enough courage to go places during the day, and even feed him when I'm out, even if it means in the car...but at least we are getting out and about! Two weeks ago I started going to a mom's support group on Mondays at Memorial Hermann. The sweetest nurse is over the meetings and she is so easy to talk to, I have enjoyed going. Two of the mother's I met asked me to walk with them once a week, so we are walking up near the waterway and the mall. We've also gone to storytime at PotteryBarn Kids! Joey and I have also been brave enough to take Joseph to church the last month. He usually crys right when we sit down, then falls asleep. We have been sitting by the choir hoping he will enjoy the music and that might keep him entertained.
Little Joey is learning so much these days! He is really reaching for toys and putting them in his mouth. He likes sucking on toys, and at bed/naptime he has to have a little blanket that he chews on. He loves to sit outside with me and watch Gina play fetch. He enjoys his bathtime by kicking and splashing. He is all smiles in the mornings and he is the sweetest when he is waking up first thing, lots of cuddles! He is finding his voice and he will squeal and coo and goo when he is in the right mood. He loves when I sing the ABC's to him. He really watches you and will follow a toy, gina, or a ball across the room. He does like watching tv, although that habit must stop soon: ) No tv for my little one... He goes to sleep anywhere from 10pm-11pm and wakes around 3am and 6am for feedings...ugh. I'm trying to cut out the middle feeding. THe 6am feeding will always be because that is when he gets medicine. But he will sleep late in the mornings if I let him, he has slept till noon before! He also can sit up with help from us, he would much rather sit up than lay down now.
I love his smile, his giggle, his cuddles, his kicking legs, his loud squeals, his frowny face, his wide eyes, and most of all I LOVE to listen to him breathing clearly when he is alseep on my chest...that is the BEST sound of all!
