SO the etch a sketch says "7 mths" but you can't see it very good. He had fun playing with it anyhow
Today my baby is 7 months old. We hear a lot of happy squeals these days. He still loves to play with colorful toys, likes to be read to, enjoys being outside, and he loves when his daddy plays with him and makes him laugh. He is really laid back and just goes with the flow. I traveled with him this past weekend to Corsicana and Waco and he did so good!
He has mastered rolling over, but occasionally falls over when he is sitting. I always put the boppy around him when he's sitting just in case he falls. He sleeps on his tummy or side now. Still takes naps twice a day and always in the swing. I tried napping him in his crib during the day, but he just doesn't sleep as long as when he is in the swing. He sleeps well at night, we put him down between 9-10pm and he sleeps until 6am when I feed him and he takes his medicine, then he goes back to sleep.
On Mondays we are still going to the mom's group up at Memorial Hermann. Tuesday's we head to infant Storytime at the library, and Wednesdays we still walk with some other moms at the woodlands waterway. After our walk we usually head to Hubble and Hudson for a yummy lunch.
Joseph is doing great with his solids. I admit, I'm a little obsessed with the Super Baby Food book...I want to make certain he is getting all the vitamins he needs! He hates his "Polyvisol" vitamin supplement, so I don't even try to give it to him anymore. Recent new foods include organic millet, yogurt, and tomorrow he will have egg yolk mixed in with his super porridge. This month he will also try tofu for protein, cottage cheese, papaya for Vitamin C, and carrots for Vitamin A. I am of course pureeing all food and batch freezing some of the veggies. So far his favorites are sweet potatoes and he likes his cereal AKA Super Porridge! The cereal he eats now is made from either whole grain brown rice, or the organic millet. I will be trying barley and oats with him too. I'm also still breastfeeding throughout the day and in the mornings and at night. We introduced water at first in a bottle, since that is what the pedi said. But that didn't work too well. Now we are using a little cup or a shot glass to give him drinks when we are feeding him. We sign "drink" and he opens his little mouth for some water...the cutest thing : )
Overall, he seems to be a very happy 7 month old! It makes me sad to think he is already over half a year old! I better start planning his 1 year birthday party! I think it will be here before I know it.
