12 weeks

On Tuesday Joey and I went to the doctor for my 12 week appointment. I had a 2nd ultrasound, met with the doctor, and had about 10 tubes of blood drawn. I was of course nervous and excited again about the ultrasound and all. The first thing I noticed on the ultrasound was the baby's spine and big head. We got to listen to the heart beat and see the baby move. The tech pointed out the hand, legs, arm, but really I couldn't tell what was what! I could make out the big alien like head and the torso. Kinda looks like an alien teddy bear to me. After the ultrasound we meet with Dr. Reed, it was Joey's first time to meet her. She told us everything was right on track and the baby was 6 cm long. I gained a huge 2 pounds and she said that was normal for the 1st trimester. She wants to see me in a month, I will have lab work and meet with her again. After we got the good news that everything was good, I told Joey "It's time to tell people"! The 12 week appointment made it so much more real to us. It is exciting to tell people and hear every one's excitement for us! I couldn't sleep Tuesday night because I was so worked up from excitement!
I'll be posting pics soon of Ghee and Poppy and GiGi and TeeToe, the proud grandparents to be! This will be the 3rd grandchild for both of them!
