Bye Bye Dr. Roy

 Joseph's last visit!

Bye Bye Subglottic Hemangioma!!

Thank you once again Dr. Roy!You've been there for us and watch Joseph grow into a healthy almost 2 yr old!

Today was a happy day as we told our favorite doctor good bye! We had a wonderful last check up and Joseph did great. He even gave Dr. Roy a smile when he listened to his neck with the stethoscope.
I asked Dr. Roy several questions and here are some stats I learned today!
1 in 12 babies are born with a hemangioma on their body (a red birth mark). Some babies are born with them inside their bodies, like Joseph's case. Under 5% are born with one obstructing their airway (the subglottic hemangioma). Dr. Roy said we were just lucky to have a baby with a subglottic hemangioma. He also said the chances of a sibling having this was very slim. Although he has released us, he said if Joseph ever has a breathing problem to contact him and he will assist us. We were so blessed that God lead this doctor into our lives at the right time (wish it would have been earlier but hey...) My family lived through this challenge for a reason we will never know. I do know I never take for granted the life of my child and I still thank the Lord for his healing and for the healing hands of Dr. Roy.

What a tough trial to go through. I'm glad you guys are on the other side of it now and that Joseph is healthy!
