Happy Thanksgiving

Beautiful Fall Decor
Yummy Thanksgiving Dinner!

The boys with full tummys

We celebrated Thanksgiving Day at Joey's parents house . That morning Joseph woke up very cranky and not feeling well. We had scheduled family photos with a friend that morning, needless to say Joseph acted HORRIBLE, but we did get some good ones. We got to the Boeller's around noon and put Joseph to sleep and we woke him up at 4pm!!! That is why he is not posted in any pictures, he slpet the whole day. He was in a great mood when he woke and he played and played. We had a nice relaxing day watching football, eating a wonderful dinner with a glass (or two) of wine, and then we played Rummikub. I won! It was a nice Thanksgiving spent with great in-laws.

IT'S NOT THANKSGIVING UNLESS...

You make a turkey with your hand,

You get to ride on a pony
(yes real live pony rides are at the Tlustos Thanksgiving),

And you get to drive Tee-Toe's Polaris.

We had a nice Thanksgiving the Saturday before the real holiday at my parents house. It is so nice that my mom hosts the holiday before the real day because then no traveling during busy holiday traffic, and I worked the Friday after Thanksgiving, so it all works out.
My sister brought their pet Pony, Cowboy, over to my parents so the kiddos could take turns riding. Of course Joseph wasn't too excited about him, he would rather be riding on Tee-Toe's Polaris. He'll pick wheels over anything these days. Joseph ran and played most all day and he even took a good nap. It was great seeing my 2 cousins on my dad's side and their children. We only see then about once a year these days so  I think we all enjoyed it. A sunny but cool day followed by a warm fire at home makes for a perfect turkey day!

Super Hero's

Brycen and Logan had a Super Hero birthday party last month and the decor was SUPER cute!
The kids got to wear their super hero attire and they even stayed still for a few pictures. Joseph was Iron Man and Joey was Batman. I was super mom, so I didn't have to dress up.
And that is Uncle Jimmy as the mascot super hero at the party.

A Stinky Halloween

We had a fun Halloween this year with our little skunk! The weekend before Halloween we took Joseph to
our friends church for "Trunk or Treating". There he dressed up as a skeleton, but on Halloween night he was a skunk. At the trunk or treat one trunk was giving out mini cupcakes, you know I never give Joseph sweets, but he cried because he wanted one, so we gave him one. He help on to that cupcake for a good hour, even bouncing in the jumpy house holding onto it. Everyone was watching him and complementing on how he could tumble, jump, and fall down, but he never let go of that cupcake or even got icing anywhere in the bouncy house. He finally tasted that icing and he ended up eating it. They also had a hay ride that he LOVED. He is obsessed with trucks and trailers right now. We had to wait in line for our turn and everytime the truck would come through and pick up other riders with out us, he would have a hissy fit. We had to explain that it would be our turn soon. We had some problems getting him off the hay ride once we got on too. But we managed!

On Halloween we took him and GIna trick or treating just up the rode. We only stopped at houses where the people were outside. It was a lot of fun, but Joseph was called a girl several times!! I just cringed when someone would refer to him as a "she" and he even got called a little princess once! yikes! I think it was the skunk's bowtie maybe that made people think he was a girl. NExt year maybe we will be something a little more manly.

Hot Wheels Birthday party!

The party was a success! The race fans who attended got to eat at the "Fuel Up" station with "Motor Oil"- grape punch,  "Antifreeze"-water, "Nuts and Bolts"- trail mix, hot links, chili dogs, pasta and fruit salad. We served a race car cake and a road cake along with "2" cookies and car cookies. I also made homemade caramel apple muffins with little race flags. Daddy helped Joseph open gifts, he got a bunch of great gifts! He loves everyone of them. Most of the gifts have wheels and he is in heaven with that! He also got a sit and spin, Elmo sticker book, stacking large blocks, books, a slide, some great looking shoes, and car pj's.  I was so glad I ended up having a larger party this year for Joseph. He was really into the birthday song and birthday theme all week. We had been to a few birthday parties and he knew about the cake, candles, ect.. He practiced blowing his candles all week, but his cousins had to help him blow them out on his birthday. Joseph was a good sport, he did NOT take a nap the whole day, went to bed at 10:15pm, then got up a bit before 5 am the next morning!! He has never survived with so little sleep. His party was so fun to plan and I can't believe it is all over now. We are looking forwards to the holidays now and our year of our Terrific Two-Year old!

Thank you to family who helped me out by making food and helping me decorate. Thank you for the great gifts and for the love you give my son :)

What I will remember the most about the birthday weekend:
Daddy Joey had a MAJOR tooth ache. ( he had a root canal soon after)
Baby Joey has never had such little sleep.
I need to add more RED food color so it doesn't look PINK.
Jean shorts don't slide very well.

2 yr old stats

And this is how he sleeps.

Shoulder Dimples!

Best Friends!

We had our well visit this last week. Here are his stats:
Weight: 28 pounds and 65%
Height: 34 3/4 and 56%
Head: 49 1/2 and 82%

We had to see a new doctor, Dr. Kruppstadt, at STEP Pediatrics. Our old doctor, Dr Byrd moved away. I was so sad to hear that because Joseph used to always say "Dr. Byrd, tweet tweet" We liked the new doc and she said his growth looks good, big head means big brains. He has always mmeasured a big head but it's funny because I do not think he looks like he has a big head at all, it looks normal to me :) She said his feet will get bigger soon and he will start to get taller, she said he is still chunky. She gave me the names of a few books that may help with some issues we are having. One is "Slove Yours Child's sleep Problems" as Joseph's nighttime sleep is not on track anymore. He is getting up at 3:45ish am and staying up wanting to play and begin his day. He will scream bloody murder when we close the door and leave him in there. We've put a door knob lock on the inside to keep him in there and boy does that make him mad. I usually cannot let him scream for long but I don't know what to do and we need our sleep....Another book she suggested was a "Guide to your Child's nutrition". She is positive he is eating good balanced meals and enough protein but she said this will help me introduce different kinds of foods. He is kinda stuck on the same thing every day...Eggs, yogurt, peanut butter, applesauce, grapes, banana, beans or tofu, crackers, salmon patties, broccoli and kale, and he drinks milk, water or juice and water mixed. She said we need to switch to 2% milk now, no more whole milk! She also suggested "Toilet Training in a day". She said it does not take a day (it takes longer) and to not push it, if he is not ready then it is not a good time.
Joseph got 2 shots and his blood drawn :( I helped hold him down for the blood, they took it out of his arm. He watch and did not even cry!! But then he screamed when he got 2 shots in his thigh. He got the flu shot and his last Hep shot. If he stays well then he won't need to see the doctor until he is 3 years old! I wonder if any child goes a year without seeing the doctor ha! That would be nice.

I will begin working full time from Nov 12th until the beginning of Feb. I am taking a co-workers hours because she is on maternity leave. I will get off at 3pm, so it's not so bad and Mrs. Claudia doesn't mind keeping Joseph a few more hours a day.

Next post will be pics of his 2 yr old HOT WHEELS birthday party! Stay tuned!
