Best Friends!
We had our well visit this last week. Here are his stats:
Weight: 28 pounds and 65%
Height: 34 3/4 and 56%
Head: 49 1/2 and 82%
We had to see a new doctor, Dr. Kruppstadt, at STEP Pediatrics. Our old doctor, Dr Byrd moved away. I was so sad to hear that because Joseph used to always say "Dr. Byrd, tweet tweet" We liked the new doc and she said his growth looks good, big head means big brains. He has always mmeasured a big head but it's funny because I do not think he looks like he has a big head at all, it looks normal to me :) She said his feet will get bigger soon and he will start to get taller, she said he is still chunky. She gave me the names of a few books that may help with some issues we are having. One is "Slove Yours Child's sleep Problems" as Joseph's nighttime sleep is not on track anymore. He is getting up at 3:45ish am and staying up wanting to play and begin his day. He will scream bloody murder when we close the door and leave him in there. We've put a door knob lock on the inside to keep him in there and boy does that make him mad. I usually cannot let him scream for long but I don't know what to do and we need our sleep....Another book she suggested was a "Guide to your Child's nutrition". She is positive he is eating good balanced meals and enough protein but she said this will help me introduce different kinds of foods. He is kinda stuck on the same thing every day...Eggs, yogurt, peanut butter, applesauce, grapes, banana, beans or tofu, crackers, salmon patties, broccoli and kale, and he drinks milk, water or juice and water mixed. She said we need to switch to 2% milk now, no more whole milk! She also suggested "Toilet Training in a day". She said it does not take a day (it takes longer) and to not push it, if he is not ready then it is not a good time.
Joseph got 2 shots and his blood drawn :( I helped hold him down for the blood, they took it out of his arm. He watch and did not even cry!! But then he screamed when he got 2 shots in his thigh. He got the flu shot and his last Hep shot. If he stays well then he won't need to see the doctor until he is 3 years old! I wonder if any child goes a year without seeing the doctor ha! That would be nice.
I will begin working full time from Nov 12th until the beginning of Feb. I am taking a co-workers hours because she is on maternity leave. I will get off at 3pm, so it's not so bad and Mrs. Claudia doesn't mind keeping Joseph a few more hours a day.
Next post will be pics of his 2 yr old HOT WHEELS birthday party! Stay tuned!
